Marietta with its history and Historic Homes takes you back to where time moved slower. Its quaint downtown area has fabulous restaurants and small unique shops. It has two theaters and a History museum. But the best part are the ghost tours if you believe in that sort of thing. They have free monthly concerts on the square when the weather is warm and a farmers market every Sunday.
Marietta also has the highest rated Schools in the state. If you have school aged children eastern side of Marietta may be the area you want.
West Marietta is a little more affordable, but you have better access to the Marietta Square and Kennesaw Mountain Park for great hiking and trails, not to mention the history you learn about the Civil War Battle which happen there.
